Las Vegas with Kids: Day 2

Our second day here was a lot of fun! The kids slept in, which is always a nice start to the day. Lol. We had breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi, a French restaurant in the Paris hotel. It has an awesome patio area right on the strip, which is great for people watching, and you could see the Bellagio Fountains if you’re there in the afternoons. It’s been really cold and windy here though, so we sat inside because of the kids.

French toast. Flamingos. M&Ms.

I had the blueberry French toast, and it was REALLY good. Remember how I said most restaurants don’t impress me with their food? Well, this one did… with the blueberry French toast at least. They used the smaller blueberries, not the big ones we usually find at the grocery store. And the smaller ones taste way better. I was also pleasantly surprised that the orange juice was very fresh. I love fresh orange juice and could probably drink a gallon of good juice in a day. Lol. K had a small order of the plain waffles, they’re the mini round waffles and they were pretty crispy. I thought they were good, but she wasn’t too interested. She’s been getting sick this trip though, so she hasn’t wanted to eat much 😕.

After breakfast, we walked down to the Flamingo Hotel to see the flamingo display. We love flamingos, and I love watching K “stand like a flamingo”. There wasn’t much more to see there than the flamingos and some brown pelicans (which are all over Florida, so that wasn’t too interesting). But it was a nice little outdoor area and killed some time.

After a light lunch and nap at the hotel, we walked down to M&M World, on the southern end of the Strip. I hadn’t been on that side of the Strip before, and thought it was a little sketchy compared to the main section we usually walk around. But M&M World was cool and K loved all of the M&M gear and candy everywhere. I’m always amazed by the M&M wall in these stores. They’re so cool to look at, and very aesthetically please in my opinion. Lol.

Fountains. Burgers. Cake.

After trying some of the candy we bought, we went over to see the Bellagio Fountains on our way to dinner, again. It’s a different show each time and to different songs. So it’s easy to go several times, even in a day, and see a different show. Then we had dinner at Holsteins in the Cosmopolitan. A lot of restaurants don’t even have kids menus, so this was one of the few close by that did and looked decent. They’re known for their burgers and boozy milkshakes. The burger wasn’t anything special, Gordon Ramsay’s was definitely better. I tried the Gold Standard Burger. And unfortunately, a boozy milkshake wasn’t on my menu because I was eating with a toddler and a baby 😂. But it was a decent restaurant, I liked the setting and we had a good view of The Chandelier area for people watching, which is always a positive.

After dinner, we walked around the Cosmo and just a few feet away to Milk Bar. I’ve seen their naked birthday cake for a few years now and always planned on trying it next time we were in NYC. So I was excited to find that they have a location here in Las Vegas. Everyone makes this cake out to be super amazing, but once again, I wasn’t impressed. It was good, but definitely not as good as I expected. Wright’s in Tampa is better in my opinion. But the birthday cookies on the other hand, those were delicious! The crack pie is another fan favorite, and it was pretty good, but I wouldn’t order it again.
