  • Maui Family Vacation Travel Guide

We just got back from our family vacation to Maui and I couldn’t wait to share this Maui family vacation guide I put together during our time there! We had such a great time, and it’s definitely going to be a hard vacation to beat. I originally booked this trip for March of 2020, but that obviously didn’t happen. So, we went in late March this year to escape the cold and rainy PNW. I guess rainy season for Maui is November to March, but all the locals said they had an unusually rainy March this year. Luckily, Maui is made up of a bunch of microclimates, so it was…

  • Wild One First Birthday Party

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my privacy policy for more info. We recently hosted a jungle-themed, “Wild One” first birthday party for our son. I picked this theme because he’s definitely a little wild, and the jungle/animal theme was perfect for him. It’s funny how much of a production I wanted our daughter’s first birthday to be, but we also still lived in Florida where all of our friends and family were. Moving across the country kind of limits your friend circle, so I figured a small, low-key birthday would be best. And yes, that was hard for the party planner in me to do, but it really was…

  • New Snapchat Lenses: How To Use

I’m sure some of you already know that Snapchat has some awesome new features with their most recent update that came out yesterday! First, and not so exciting, they’ve added the option to purchase additional views of snaps. For just 99 cents you can replay a snap up to 3 times, so be careful next time you send a “sexy snap” to someone that only last 1-2 seconds…because they could pay to replay and screenshot that snap! The real exciting news that came with the Snapchat update is the selfie lenses (7 total)! I couldn’t stop playing with them on my drive into work today. Every single red light I…

  • A Week Without Wifi…

So, this past weekend we decided we were going to rent a tiller and tear up the side of our yard where we recently had a large tree removed so we could get the ground ready for new sod (we’ve laid sod before, but we’ve never had to tear up old sod and what not beforehand). Well, we somehow managed to slice up our Fios cable in the process… so we are currently without cable and internet for most of this week until Verizon can come out and replace the cable.  I never realized how much I use the internet while at home. Thank goodness we have seasons of some of…

  • Back to School: Dorm Room Essentials

It’s that time of year again – stores have put out the back to school supplies and are starting on the Halloween decor, can you believe it’s already August?? I remember when I first moved into the dorms 7 years ago (WOW!!!), even though my dorm room was more of a 4 bedroom/2 bath apartment with a full kitchen and living room…on a lake… thank you FGCU. I was so excited to go shopping for my new room, and I learned quickly what was actually useful and what was a waste, so here’s my dorm room essentials list: Dorm beds are not very comfortable, so a mattress pad is a great…
