A weekend of family fun and exploring

The weather here has been absolutely perfect the past few days, and people are finally wearing shorts and sandals. Not that I haven’t already been wearing those things all winter (because #floridian), but other people were actually wearing them as well.

We had brunch at Salty’s, a waterfront restaurant that has a popular brunch buffet on weekends. It was good, but there’s a lot of seafood, which is what they’re known for, but I don’t eat seafood. I stuck to waffles, hash browns, and the dessert bar, which were all tasty. There’s a nice sidewalk right along the water and a little pier to walk out on. The view of the Puget Sound is stunning, and on a clear day you can see mountains across the sound. I think they’re the Olympic Mountains, but I’m not sure.

After brunch, we drove over to Bellevue to check out a new waterfront park that just opened. It has a has a cool, modern pedestrian pier out into the water, a beach and swimming area, and a fun playground for kids of all ages. I’m sure the little beach will be packed during the summer. The kids loved walking around, even though J had to stay in the carrier most of the time. He’s almost walking, but still too little to keep up with all the kids at the park either way. He gets really excited watching his sister run around and go down the slides though. I’ll definitely have my hands full once he can run around too.

It’s feeling like spring around here, and we are loving it. We can’t wait to explore more, and hopefully this weather sticks around a while longer.

xx

P.S. If you’re in Seattle and looking for a beach, I’d definitely recommend checking out Ruby Beach, if you have the time to drive over to the coast. It has amazing views and plenty of beach to walk or play along. Here’s my post about our trip over there.
